Can You believe it??

I was reading some reports last week about small business and marketing when a survey jumped out at me.  It said that 44% of small businesses don’t have a website.  Forty Four Percent!! Almost half of you don’t have a website.

The scary thing is that now is the time for a website.  The prices for hosting are dirt cheap right now while everyone is out looking for other businesses and they are using the internet more than they are using any other form of media.  And almost half do not have a website.

To top that off, I wonder of those WITH a website, how many have more than one??  I remember when I started to make my very first website, the hosting company was a friend of mine.  He would always tell me about some of his clients that had 50 or a 100 websites.  I could not image what anyone would want with more than one.  Now I know…  You can’t have just one.  But you have to start with one.

I just ask my assistant to fetch me the phone book, and like all good wives, she gave me “the look.”  But it wasn’t “the look” like most married men get, it was the look of “The what?”  followed by “Do we have one?”

We do, its holding down some papers I needed flattened.  In Las Vegas, the phone books are published twice a year and are classified as a deadly weapon.  I kid you not.  they are so thick and heavy.  Filled with strippers, lawyers and doctors.  in that order. But nothing much else.  Because who would ever pay money to be in there when the Internet is almost free and has more power??

So please, tell me you have a website.  if not, tell me why not?
