Why Do I Use 2 Hosting Companies??

Good Question. You are right, I do use two different hosting companies: DreamHost and HostGator

Why I Use DreamHost

After a few years of bouncing around from bargain hosting company to bargain hosting company and feeling violated while trying to set up an account with Godaddy, I came across Dreamhost.  At that time, they were just past being a start up and offered some great deals along with great support.

My needs in a hosting company were simple:  Give me easy setup, ability to host a few domains in one place and make maintenance of the overall account super, super simple.  With no continuous up-sells or constant email solicitations after I sign up (a GoDaddy specialty).     DreamHost offers that.

They do not offer phone tech support.  Some see that as a negative.  I don’t.  They are always fast on emails and offer chat most hours of the day.  They do not promise 24/7 chat support, but there has never been a time I didn’t see a friendly tech open for a question on chat.  Always with super fast response and the right answers.  To this crew, there is no dumb question.

They offer simple one-click installs for some of the best software and tools in Internet Marketing.  WordPress, MediaWiki, Bulletin boards, photo gallery and others. programs

I use DreamHost for multiple domain hosting, sites that need all the bells and whistles, and for sites that will someday have a large amount of traffic.

Why I Use Hostgator

I recommend Hostgator for the client just starting out or with one domain name.  Great 24/7 phone support, great deals on domain hosting with an easy to understand cPanel interface.

Hostgator is easy to work around for the novice.  Easy to set up and configure your basic website with all the usual plugins and one-click installs.  They make it easy for the newbie to start their  Online business or blog.

They also have a cool looking website that makes selling their services much easier.  Some people are like that!

I offer Hostgator for the newbie or person with fewer Internet Marketing  requirements
