Amazon Affiliate?

For those of you who are Amazon Affiliates and are looking for a great plugin to help you make awesome product reviews in your blog posts or to build powerful niche product websites using Amazon… let me recommend a great little WordPress plugin I just found and bought – ReviewAzon

Its powerful, customizable and really flexible.  You can pull in some of the information from Amazon or use the entire product listing.  Add your own review and insert rating and reviews or just the images.  It’s fast and easy with this plugin.  I was up and running in minutes on my test sites.

Looking at The Data

This may sound too geeky for some, but I love to look at my analytic’s for my affiliates. What people clicked, what they looked at and most important, what did they buy.  That last one may surprise you.

A great example of this is my Amazon account.  Not a big one for me, but it is pretty consistent month in and month out.  It also is one that brings me the most entertainment..

You would think that being Amazon, people are looking for books or movies.  But they aren’t. My biggest checks from Amazon have always come from things like diapers (seriously), tools and kitchenware.  Things I never advertised, never mentioned or even referred to.  But they bought them from a simple link on my blog.

Never Underestimate The Power of a Link

In a recent post, I was talking about a book like  “Making a Living Without a Job”, people were interested and they hit the link.  A couple of people bought the book.  Then added to their cart a movie they forgot they loved and … oh yea, the baby needs diapers (???) or those pots and pans looked cool…..  Next thing you know, what was supposed to be a $1 affiliate commission becomes a $10 commission.  Have that happen a few times a month and you have a nice check.

On a movie site I help keep up, we find that the average affiliate click is not what they end up with.  They may go for a movie we talk about, but opt for the poster, coffee mug and jersey instead.  You just never know what the customer really wants.

So never underestimate the power of a simple link. Even if you think your blog or website reader is not one to click it, put a link or two up and you will be amazed at what will happen.   When you talk about a book, a report or do product endorsement, link it to an affiliate program and make a little extra cash.  While making the cash, you also learn a little more about your average viewer to your blog.  It will amaze you .
