Know Thy Market

Ok, several of you took me to task on promoting the sale of a legal smokeless product.  Sorry, but your arguments on the “evils” of the product fell on deaf ears.  And not because I am a smoker, but because I know my markets.

I was a smoker back when the evil things were seventy five cents a pack.  When they went to a buck  I quit for financial reasons.  So I am not here to argue pro or con the issues of smoking.  I am here to help you make money online and to do that, you need to know who your market is.

So let me ask you this; Just because you do not partake in a certain habit yourself, yet know some of your audience does,  would you shut the door on that market?  This website is visited by people from all walks of business life.  I cater to a wide range of people who do business online.  So I need to keep that in mind when a marketing offer is presented to me.

One of the first things I teach people in Customer Service is to identify your customer.  To know who they are.  And I know who many of you are. simply by reading my email and watching my analytics.  Something every smart Internet marketing person should do often.

So please, keep the letters and comments business focused, not personal.  If you smoke, that’s fine, if you don’t that’s cool too.  Its not my business to know.  It’s just my business to know what you will want to buy or want to sell.
